Dylan’s back to rave reviews

We’re back – and so is Bob Dylan. Our re-opening this week coincides with the release of Rough and Rowdy Ways, the man from Hibbing, Minnesota’s first album of original material since Tempest in 2012. And it’s getting rave reviews across the board.

As luck would have it, during lockdown we have acquired a large number of Bob’s earlier releases, ranging from the very hard-to-find masterpieces like Blonde on Blonde, Nashville Skyline and John Wiley Harding to much of the vinyl he released in the 80s and 90s. If you are looking for one of his albums, chances are we have got it.

Among a number of Dylan rarities we also have acquired a wonderful copy of the 5-LP box set, Biograph, that was compiled in 1985. It contains a spellbinding collection of his material, some familiar, some not, some unreleased until then, and it was the forerunner to the extended official Bootleg Series that has followed.

The box contains not one but two booklets, containing a long essay on Dylan and some amazing pictures. The records are in almost unplayed condition. There’s just the one copy though.

The Record Album will re-open for business on Friday June 19 at 10am, closing at 5pm. We will be open on Fridays and Saturdays for the same hours until further notice.
